Hi, I’m Pim from OVpay. I’d like to ask you a few quick questions. Afterwards, you’ll know if you can use your debit card, credit card or phone to check in and out.

Can you travel using OVpay yet? Find out!

In addition to the OV-chipkaart, you can now also use your contactless card or phone to check in and out of public transport. This is called OVpay, and there’s no need to apply or create an account beforehand! Wondering if OVpay would work for you? Answer a few quick questions to find out.

Do you have a student travel product, an NS-Business Card, or an OV-chipkaart from your employer?

Do you use discounts for P+R, an OV-fiets, or the NS bike storage?

Do you travel on a balance, without a subscription, and in 2nd class?

Travelling on balance means you load money onto your OV-chipkaart to pay for travel. You can do this at a machine or through automatic top-up. 

If you travel in first class and pay the full fare, there’s an additional surcharge. In that case, answer ‘no’.

If you’re under 12 or 65 and up, you qualify for a 34% age-based discount on bus, tram and metro travel. In North-Brabant, age-based discounts also apply to bus travel until age 18.

Yes, you can use OVpay for travel! This means you can check in and out with your contactless card or phone. The best part? There’s no need to apply in advance - you can start straight away. Want to know how it works? We are happy to tell you all about it.

Your ability to use OVpay depends on your discount or subscription. Check the website of your transport operator for the latest information. If your subscription or discount isn’t listed, it’s best to keep using your OV-chipkaart for now.

Yes, you can use OVpay for travel! This means you can check in and out with your contactless card or phone. Read here how to add an age-based discount to your debit card.

You still need your OV-chipkaart for P+R discounts, an OV-fiets, or the NS bike storage. We'll let you know here if that changes.

Then you can't travel with OVpay just yet. You'll be notified as soon as it becomes possible.
